Mirna has more than 15 years of experience in government relations, business strategy, digital communications and journalism. She managed public sector business for Thomson Reuters across 22 MENA countries and partnered with international organizations to promote innovation and social change. She spent more than 10 years as a financial journalist with Reuters, Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and Zawya.
Mirna has an Executive MBA from City University of London in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.She is certified from MIT University in Fintech and ecommerce, and in Digital Marketing and Communications from Columbia University. Mirna is also certified in Digital Transformation Strategies from Cambridge University.
Abe Karar
Chief Product & Innovation Officer
Abe Karar is the Chief Product & Innovation Officer at Fintech Galaxy, where he guides the strategy of our platform and the design of new products, processes, technologies to drive business performance, client engagement and operational excellence.
With over 15 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, Abe has worked at some of the largest financial institutions in the world, including BMO Bank of Montreal, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Arab Financial Services (AFS). He has held various leadership roles across Digital, Retail, Card, Operations, Customer Experience, Business Analytics, AML and Risk Strategies.
Abe’s expertise range from executing large-scale transformational initiatives across key strategic enterprise programs (+$200M), developing and implementing operational controls and action plans, and transforming strategic plans into business solutions that streamline business processes, improve customer experience, mitigate risks, reduce costs, increase productivity ratio and enhance overall ROI.
Abe holds an MBA and a degree in Applied Mathematics, and has taught Corporate Performance Management, amongst other courses, at the triple-accredited Telfer professional MBA program, at the University of Ottawa
Michael Hartman
Chief Technology Officer
Michael Hartmann is Fintech Galaxy's Chief Technology Officer. He leads, develops and executes a technology vision and roadmap for Fintech Galaxy’s platform and solutions, address business demands, and drive continuous innovation. Michael is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning, execution, and management of all Fintech Galaxy technology projects and initiatives that are key to the company’s growth and success.
Michael is an experienced Engineering & Product leader with 18+ years of experience driving digital transformation & scaling within the Financial Services, Telco, and SaaS space going from scale-ups to large corporations. With proven expertise in API Platform development, digital transformation, ecosystems and partnerships, he is and advisor within the Technology & Digital Transformation domain across Financial Services, Telco, and Startups. He currently is a Board Member for Simon Fougner Hartmann Family Foundation in Copenhagen.
Michael previously served as VP and Head of Digital Delivery & Transformation for TDC Group, Copenhagen where he led the overall digital delivery organization building customer and user-centric mindset across all Group IT applications. He also contributed to the advancement of several companies in Copenhagen like Danske Bank, Planday, Unwire, where he held roles such as Head of Digital Channels - Solutions & Integrations, VP Engineering, VP Messaging, and other executive roles leading technology and people.
He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology, in Mobile Technology and IT from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition to BA of Computer and Software Engineer and Computer Science from the Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Moreover, he holds a certificate in Digital Transformation: Platform Strategies for Success from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Dmitrii Barbasura
Chief Operations Officer
Dmitrii Barbasura is the Chief Operating Officer at Fintech Galaxy. He manages Fintech Galaxy’s operations and organization of all business processes, leading the company’s strategic growth in MENA and globally. He majorly contributes to setting and meeting the company’s objectives, bringing best practices into an efficient operating system to achieve a healthy and sustainable development.
With a longstanding experience of over 20 years of bringing innovative technologies to the financial market, including digital banking, payment cards processing, open API development and data aggregation, Open Banking/PSD2, Dmitrii has set the strategy and direction of multiple businesses while modelling their culture and values. He dedicated his deep expertise and knowledge to open banking APIs development, building ground-breaking solutions.
With a background ranging from programming, IT up to digitalising various business processes, Dmitrii Barbasura is keen on finding cost-efficient solutions that fill the gap between businesses and financial data.
Dmitrii has shared his open banking expertise with central banks around the world including the Central Bank of Brazil, Central Bank of Romania, EBA, Bank of Greece, Bank of Italy, Central Bank of Spain, Central Bank of Bahrain, and many others. He is a member of the Forbes Finance Council, The Berlin Group, and the Financial Data & Technology Association and is permanently invited as a speaker at global events, such as Money 2020, Paris Fintech Forum, LendIt, and many others.
Prior to joining Fintech Galaxy, Dmitrii was the co-founder and CEO of Salt Edge Inc., where he built a world-renown company starting only from an idea, created its product vision, managed its launch and go-to-market strategies, and embraced Open Banking/PSD2 innovations. Before Salt Edge, Dmitrii was engaged in various projects, ranging from founding and developing a money management solution to working in technical roles for companies involved in Software Development and Online Sales.
Dmitrii holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technologies from the Technical University of Moldova, as well as a Bachelor in Economic Science from the Modern Humanitarian Academy.

Fadi Sleiman is a Finance professional with background in leveraging CFA designations to use data and make financial decisions and recommendations. He served as a CFO at AlRajhi United Investment , Abdulrahman AlRashid & Sons Co. Ltd where he managed and promoted financial investments in the GCC, UK and USA. He has also served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Abdulrahman Al-Rashid & Sons Co. Ltd and as a Finance Manager at Mawazin International Contracting.
He was also an active director of Durah Alkhaleej residential fund, a real estate fund managed by DERAYAH a financial services firm licensed by the CMA Independent board director. He was also a director at Amwal Financial Consultants and European Investment Park.
Fadi holds a Global executive MBA from INSEAD , has attended several graduate courses at McMaster University and has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Lebanese University.
